When I have computer problems as I did last week, I am at the mercy of the repairman. I looked in the yellow pages and was surprised to find a dozen companies in that business. Which one to call?

Well, I got lucky on my first selection and called Fountain Hills Computer Services. No service call charge, no minimum charge, just a straight hourly rate for work done, and no charge if they couldn't fix it.

At 9 a.m. the next day, “Josh” arrived on time, was very friendly and courteous, got right to work, found the problem, fixed it, found an unrelated problem (loose wire) and presented me with a bill much less than expected.

An unscrupulous repairman could have taken advantage of my ignorance and really “stuck it to me.” Fountain Hills Computer Services and “Josh” in particular, have earned my trust and I will recommend them every chance I get.

When we have computer problems, we call Fountain Hills Computer Service, they are quick to reply, very helpful and get the job done right. Thanks for all your help.

I don’t normally take the time to send a “Letter to the Editor” for any reason, but I felt that I needed to share a very positive experience that I had with a local company.

As a former retail owner here, I feel very strongly that we residents support those Fountain Hills businesses that work hard to earn our business.

Recently, I had a computer issue that required professional support. I contacted Fountain Hills Computer Services and owner Jamie Hansen for the help I needed.

I found Jamie and his staff to be personable, professional, knowledgeable and, most of all, more than fair in their fees.

Again, knowing how tough it is to do business here, and for that matter in today’s difficult economic times, give these folks an opportunity to help you with any of your computer needs. You will see what I mean.

Customer service is alive and well at Fountain Hills Computer Services.

We had a laptop down and needed someone to tell us what the problem was so I called a big name store and was told they’d check it out for $100 for hardware and $250 if it was a software problem.

My husband, a small business owner himself, said, “Let’s check with someone local,” so I got out the Fountain Hills Phone Directory. I reviewed the ads and found Fountain Hills Computer Services with the “BBB” so figured that would be a great first choice.

I called and Pat answered the phone with a friendly voice. As we talked she actually sounded like she might just “care” that I called.

Pat advises me to bring it and they could look at it today. She advises me that if they can’t fix it or figure it’s too expensive, they won’t charge me anything.

I hop in the car and in a few minutes I’m there meeting with friendly Pat. After she collects all the information she needs to have the laptop looked at, she tells me about a drawing the paper is having to bring awareness to have residents shop in Fountain Hills. She cuts out the ad in the paper and I fill out my name and phone number. I could use a free $100.

So, Jamie the owner and technician check it out and advise us what the problem is, but it’s expensive, so he won’t charge us anything just like Pat said. We pick it up along with their brochure plus some flyers about laptops they could sell us when we decide what we are going to do.

Customer service like it should be: friendly, personalized and caring. The other benefits to shopping in Fountain Hills are saving money, time and gas! Thanks Fountain Hills Computer Services! You have a new loyal customer who will refer business to you!
